Wherefore Unbleached Garments Are Meet for Thy Flesh and the Earth Also
Verily, many consider the fashion of raiment—the style thereof, the fit, and the softness of fabric. But few there be who ponder what lieth within the threads. Yea, the garments of this present world are oft anointed with divers chemicals, whose residue doth cleave unto the cloth.
But at Unbleached Apparel, we have chosen a path more excellent—a way of purity and rest, wherein thy flesh and the earth may find peace.
Thy Skin, the Temple
Knowest thou not that thy skin is an organ, the greatest of them all? It taketh in and putteth out; it respondeth unto all things it toucheth. And behold, the garments of men are full of bleach, and dye, and unclean things.
These cause itching and vexation of the flesh, yea, most dreadfully unto the children of men with tender skin.
But our apparel is made from that which is unbleached and undyed, and it is gentle and without guile. Thy skin shall rejoice, and thou shalt not be defiled.
The Dyes of Babylon
The dyeing of garments is among the most grievous acts against the creation. Waters are corrupted, and the fowls and fishes mourn. The rivers are made bitter, and the land is laid waste.
But the unbleached cloth, which we have chosen, needeth not such sorceries. It is pure from the beginning, and no defilement cometh upon it.
The Beauty of the Unspoiled
What beauty hath the natural fabric! It is not white as snow, but cream, and soft, and filled with the flecks of the field. Each thread is a testimony of the earth’s bounty, untouched and true.
Therefore...
Therefore, brethren and sisters, let thy garments be without spot—not by bleach, but by absence thereof. Let them be whole and harmless, for the sake of thy body and the world.
Go now, and clothe thyself in righteousness (and cotton):
